First the backup of JorumOpen as a formal resting place for outputs seems to be allowing projects build something temporary/quickly/tailored to their own needs without having to worry about all that standards overhead that you need for a proper repository. Second the use of the home-grown “repository” to help with managing content before it is disseminated (I see a parallel to this in the position paper from the OU for CETISROW).
